Beneficial Ownership Reporting

The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), integrated into the National Defense Authorization Act on January 1, 2021, mandates the submission of beneficial ownership reports for corporations, limited liability companies, and other similar entities operating within the United States. These reports are to be submitted to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a division of the U.S. Department of Treasury.  

 

This reporting obligation is governed by federal law. Therefore, entities obligated to file reports must do so through fincen.gov/boi. For any further inquiries regarding reporting criteria, individuals are encouraged to visit the Small Business Resources page at FinCEN.gov
